Safe, Secure and Prepared was created as we saw the need in our community for all facets of safety and preparedness. Our team’s expertise spans from Emergency Medical Services to advanced Security. We are not only experienced in the various fields of Safety, Security and Preparedness we are certified as practitioners and instructors by some of the biggest names in the field to include the American Red Cross, FEMA, U.S. Military, MIT, Glock, Code 4 Academy and USCCA to name a few. Experience is not enough, and we get that! As First Aid, Emergency Responders, and Security Professionals we utilize these relationships to stay on the cutting edge of trends, tactics, and strategies. I added additional details based on my own experiences as a first responder. An Introduction to 2-way radio
With our GMV CERT Net this Wednesday evening (Every Wednesday at 8pm E. Tiger Mt. GMRS Repeater), I thought I’d put together an article with a few descriptions, a glossary of terms and close with the links you need to make it happen.
Let’s start with GMRS, this is the acronym for General Mobile Radio Service. GMRS is not Ham radio, but it does require a license. This is a no test, pay your $35 to the FCC and you AND your family are licensed, good for 10 years. (Continue)
